At the Recharge Global Offshore Wind Summit in Oslo, SNOW managing partner Jérôme Guillet joined a panel on the future of floating wind - arguing that smaller developers deserve more credit and trust in the sector.
Jérôme made the case that it was nimble early movers, not the large incumbents, that drove the most progress in fixed-bottom offshore wind, and that the same dynamic could - and should - play out in floating wind.
Torgeir Knutsen, who is currently on secondment as a policy officer at the Directorate-General of the European Commission from Norway's Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, opened the event by saying that while ambition in the sector has risen "quite dramatically" this will "not come for free".
